Q-tip Technique with Winter Woods

If you’re looking for a quick and easy way to put colorful foliage on a tree, this is it!  The card on the left is done with Q-tips.  Stamp the tree in Early Espresso.  Then just press the swab on your ink pad and then on your cardstock, wherever you want leaves.

Start with the lightest color (I used Crushed Curry), then the medium color (Pumpkin Pie) and finally your darkest color (Cajun Craze).  I used a sponge to swipe some Cajun Craze across the bottom so the trees wouldn’t be “floating in air”.

I wanted to make this card at my library class, but was afraid it would take too long with swabs, so I decided to try it with daubers.  The card on the right is the one we made.

It’s a very simple technique, and I hope you’ll give it a try.
