Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!

It’s March 17th and time for all of us to let our Irish show!  Today’s Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop is focusing on packaging, so what better time to make St. Patrick’s Day treats.

As you can imagine, being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I get a lot of packages both through the USPS and through UPS.  When we first moved into our new house, I made it a point to catch both my mail carrier and UPS driver to meet them and find out a little bit about them, including what kinds of snacks and treats they like.

My mail carrier’s favorite is Reese cups, so I try to stay stocked up on those.  I decided to make her a special treat for St. Patrick’s Day.

I took one of our acetate card boxes and filled it with Reese cups wrapped in green and gold.  The candy didn’t fit perfectly in the box and wanted to slide around, so I made a “tray” from Shaded Spruce cardstock to keep the candies in their place.  I wrapped the box with a gold foil belly band around the side so it doesn’t interfere with opening the box and made a pretty label to decorate it.

I like to play with my stamps and use them in ways you might not think about to get double duty from them.  For this project I used a four petal flower from Pretty Perennials and trimmed away one of the petals to make the shamrock.

If you have several people you’d like to treat, this next project may be more to your liking.  It’s very simple, and I could make several of these in the time it took to make the project above.  The secret to this project is the Tag Topper Punch which makes tags very quickly.  Bag it and tag it!

I hope you’ve enjoyed these packaging ideas!  I love to give and get treats, don’t you?

Now, let’s see what the other hoppers have been up to:

Here’s the fixin’s:
