Freshly Brewed Projects – For The Guys

Today, I’m joining my friends again for another Blog Hop.  This hop is to show off a few masculine cards.  I know a lot of us have trouble coming up with ideas for the guys, so visit everyone’s site and I’m sure you’ll see some great new projects.

My project uses the Merry Moose stamp set and Moose punch.  These were in last year’s holiday catalog, but they sold out so quickly that most people weren’t able to get them.  To help with that disappointment, Stampin’ Up! brought these back in this year’s August-December Mini Catalog, and they’re still bundled!! That means you can still save 10% when you purchase both.

When I started with this project, I made a totally different card.  I made the card below with my stamping friends in a Zoom event I called Saturday Stampin’ Surprise.  I gave them a list of the pieces they would need, and then I talked them through making the card, sight unseen!  It was a lot of fun and they made beautiful cards!  I may try to talk them into letting me share them with you.

When I showed this card to my husband, he said, “that’s a Christmas card”.  I told him it was a birthday card, but he said it didn’t matter what greeting I stamped on it, it was red and green and therefore a Christmas Card.  Sheesh!

After giving it some thought, I decided to make a new panel to turn it into a real Christmas card and remake it in grays for my masculine card.

So, after all that, which one do you like best?

If you’re in the USA, and don’t have a demonstrator, I’d love to be yours!

Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop – Case the Catalogue

Today, I’m blog hopping again with the lovely ladies from Australia, and if you think I misspelled the word catalog, I didn’t!  In Australia, it’s spelled catalogue.  I’ve learned so many fun words from my friends “down under”.

In this blog hop, we are Casing the Catalog (okay, I’m back to US spelling).  If you haven’t tried this, it’s a great way to get your creative juices flowing.  CASE means Copy And Share Everything, and Stampin’ Up! encourages you to use their designs for inspiration.  To Case the catalog, you simply pick a sample, and re-make it using different colors, stamps, etc. to put your own “spin” on the card.  What you end up with may look nothing like the sample, and that’s ok, too!

I live in the Bluegrass State (hence the name Bluegrass Stamper), the Commonwealth of Kentucky, where we have been making Bourbon for over 200 years.  We even have a Bourbon trail, where you can visit the distilleries and sample their wares.

When I first saw Stampin’ Up!’s new annual catalog, the Whiskey Business stamp set was at the top of my Wish List!  I decided to use it for my CASE today.

The card I used for inspiration is found on page 59 of the Annual Catalog.  It’s the green one with the deer in the bottom right corner of this picture.

Here’s my take using the Whiskey Business stamp set.

World of Good Front Flap

One of my favorite suites in the new annual catalog is the World of Good Suite on page 24.  So many beautiful new products!  I just had to use it for club last month.  We had our class online and everyone did a great job using the products they had to reproduce this card.
