You Move Me Butterfly

It’s been a while since I posted, and I’m trying to get back in the swing of things.

If you haven’t seen the You Move Me bundle in the annual catalog, you are missing a cute and innovative new product from Stampin’ Up!  The stamps and dies are made to work together to create movement.  The stamp set includes both a butterfly and a hummingbird, and when you slowly pull the card up, the wings flutter!

Check out this quick video.

Nailed It – Take 2

We made a toolbelt card in Stamp Club last month.  You can see it here.  I promised my club members that I would show them a “stepped up” version of the card.  This is a re-creation of a card from the Occasions Catalog.

On the original version, we stamped the tools in basic black on white and colored them with an aquapainter.  We also stamped the screw heads on the pockets.  On my stepped up version here, I stamped the tools on silver foil, and again on Island Indigo (screwdriver and hammer) and Crushed Curry (saw).  I cut the handles off the cardstock images and adhered them to the silver foil images.

I also used markers to color the Happy Fathers Day in two colors instead of one.  And, I used the screw heads from the Urban Underground Embellishments on the pockets.  I think it really dresses this card up.  What do you think?

You Can Kick This

There’s a young man from our church who is going through a pretty tough time right now.  He was on a week long break from a pro football team, and was having shoulder pain.  He went in for tests and was diagnosed with AML (acute myeloid leukemia).

Our pastor’s wife started a “card train” where we could sign up to send Mitchell a card on a specific day.  Our hope was that he would receive a card every day to show him we were thinking about him and keeping him in our prayers.

I made this card to send on my assigned day.  The football spins and moves on the track through the goal posts.  I hope he liked it!

If you would like to learn more about Mitchell or help with his medical expenses, you can get more information here.  I’m sure any donation would be much appreciated.
