Changing Leaves

Changing Leaves

It’s been a very warm fall here, but the temperatures are finally cooling off and leaves are coming down. I love the beautiful colors, but Steve doesn’t like all the work they bring. We live in the country and back up to woods, so we have plenty of leaves.

Changing Leaves Card

Changing Leaves

We made this card at a recent card class. Even though the picture looks like it has some yellow, that is really a gold foil strip under the greeting and gold sequins. It just doesn’t show up well on camera.

Changing Leaves Bundle

This is a lovely three-piece bundle. It has a stamp set and dies, but also includes a Hybrid Embossing folder. If you aren’t sure what this is, it’s an embossing folder that has a die that will fit inside, so you can cut out the leaves and emboss them at the same time.

It makes the bundle very versatile, as you can use the dies alone, with stamps or with the embossing folder, and you can use the embossing folder with or without the die.

This bundle is part of our OnLine Exclusives, so you won’t find it in any catalog.

Don’t forget to stamp the inside of your card to add some lovely detail.

As you can see from this detail shot, I added some of the die cut leaves, a linen thread bow, and gold sequins to finish off this card.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Autumn Leaves 1

It’s been a busy few days here at the Moss Home. We always host Thanksgiving for Steve’s family. It’s a lot of work, but it’s always great to get together. Whatever you’re doing for the holiday, I hope you have a very Happy Thanksgiving!

From Our Family to Yours

Here’s a picture from last year’s Thanksgiving and a picture of our set up this year.

Autumn Leaves

I thought I’d share a pretty fall project with you today. This one is really pretty easy and uses the Autumn Leaves Bundle. It’s perfect for today.

Instructions

First, cut a Blackberry Bliss card base to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches and score at 4 1/4 on the long side to make your card base.

Next, cut a Very Vanilla panel to 4 x 5 1/4. Stamp the large maple leaf around the edges in Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Blackberry Bliss inks. Attach panel to the card base.

Season of Chic

Season of Chic

If you’re looking for a stamp set with dies that’s good for every season, look no further than Season of Chic Stamp Set and Chic Dies. This combo has stamps and dies for Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter.

Amazing Beyond Measure

My Team is called the Red White and Blue Stampers, and they are all Amazing Beyond Measure. I made these cards to send to them. On our bi-weekly Zoom, I demonstrated how to make the stamped leaf using our watercolor pencils and water painter. I also demonstrated some bow making tips, so this card was perfect to send to them, as it incorporated both!

Season of Chic

Season of Chic

With seven sentiments and images for four seasons, Season of Chic is a very versatile Stamp Set.

Chic Dies

This set has dies to cut out the stamped images from Season of Chic, but also dies to cut out details to layer on those images and other coordinating detailed dies.

How It’s Made

  1. Cut Cajun Craze cardstock to 5 ½ x 8 ½ and score at 4 ¼ on the long side.  Fold for card base.
  2. Cut a 4 ¼ x 5 ½ panel of Very Vanilla. Cut a piece of scrap paper to 4 ¼ x 5 ½.  Cut out the center of scrap paper using the fifth largest Deckled Rectangle Die.
  3. Layer scrap paper (with deckled hole in center) over vanilla panel and secure together (I used a paper clip on the edge).  Holding the scrap paper securely, use Blending Brush and Crushed Curry Ink Pad to add color to vanilla panel through the scrap paper’s hole.  Remove scrap paper and discard or save for another project.  Stamp sentiment on Vanilla panel with Cajun Craze ink.
  4. Cut Very Vanilla panel (with blended center) with largest die from Deckled Rectangles Dies.  Attach to card base.
  5. Cut a detailed leaf from Cajun Craze cardstock scrap.  Attach to card with glue.
  6. Stamp leaf in Cajun Craze on Watercolor Paper.  Color center of leaf with Pumpkin Pie Watercolor Pencil and outer edges with Daffodil Delight Watercolor Pencil.  Use Water Painter to blend colors.  Cut with coordinating die and attach to card with Dimensionals.
  7. Add a small linen thread bow to leaf with mini glue dot.  Color three small rhinestones with Dark Pumpkin Pie Blend and adhere to card.
