Traditions of Christmas Treat

If you have a group of friends you’d like to give a small treat for Christmas, this may be just what you need. It’s perfect for Teachers, Book Clubs, Bible Studies, etc. It’s a good way to show you care without spending a ton of money.

Traditions of Christmas Treat Box

This cute treat box doesn’t take a lot of time, so you can make several in an afternoon. I’ve used the Traditions of Christmas Suite.

Traditions of Christmas Suite

This is a gorgeous suite. I’ll tell you right now that this picture does NOT do justice to the Designer Series Paper (DSP). This is one of the most gorgeous papers I’ve ever seen, and trust me, I’ve seen a LOT! It has beautiful gold accents.

The suite comes with two bundles (stamps sets with coordinating dies). One is filled with images, and the dies will actually cut out some of the images from the DSP. The other has holiday greetings and dies to use with them.

If that wasn’t enough, there’s still a 3D Embossing Folder, beautiful shiny red ribbon and glimmer dots!

It’s a Treat Box!

Traditions of Christmas Treat Box with Hershey Bar

This box is made to fit a regular Hershey’s chocolate bar. You can purchase these in packages of six.

How It’s Made:

Cut cardstock to 6 1/2″ x 8 1/4″.

Score on the 8 1/4″ side at 3/8″, 7/8″, 7 3/8″ and 7 7/8″.

Score on the 6 1/2″ side at 2 1/2″, 3″, 5 1/2″ and 6″.

Fold all score lines toward the inside of the box and burnish with your bone folder.

Cut as shown. As you can see, I cut small wedges on the six end flaps (NOT on the long side flap). This makes the box easier to assemble.

Before assembling the box, flip it over to add your DSP while the box is flat.

Cut a piece of DSP 2″ x 6″ and adhere to the center of the large panel (with the end flaps). Now, turn the box over so the inside is up. Fold in the long skinny end flap and apply adhesive to the outside of this flap. Fold the other side of the box over and adhere the skinny flap to the edge of the other side to complete your box. Decorate as desired.

I stamped the sentiment in Secret Sea and cut it out with the curved banner die.

Next, I cut two holly leaves from Old Olive and one from Secret Sea. I attached these with Mini Dimensionals and used the Traditional Sparkling Sequins as holly berries.

Once you’re finished decorating your box, insert your candy bar and fold the end flaps in to close the box.
