My Maui Swap Card

I was recently blessed to attend the Maui Elite Incentive Trip, thanks to my wonderful customers and team! It’s always fun to participate in swaps at any Stampin’ Up! event, and the Incentive Trip is my favorite. I’m always star-struck to be in the company of such fabulous demonstrators and have samples of their work!

For my swap, I made this Party Puffins Double Z Fancy Fold Card. In addition to the Party Puffins, I used the Spiral Dye background stamp. This stamp is fun and easy to use. You ink it in one color and stamp, then ink it in a different color, turn it upside down and stamp again. I used a portion of this stamped piece for the outside layer, and added leftover scraps to the inside panels.

Cardstock and Colors

I used Basic Black cardstock, along with two of the new in-colors, Pale Papaya and Polished Pink. All stamping was done with Memento black ink, and the puffins and cake were colored with the Pale Papaya and Polished Pink Blends, with just a tiny bit of Soft Succulent and Daffodil Delight added to the cake. The card was finished off with a Polished Pink ribbon bow and basic rhinestones colored with the fine point of the Polished Pink Blend. The fine point has a harder tip and is less likely to be damaged by the sharp surface of the rhinestones.

Making Multiple Cards

Making swap cards can be quite a bit of work, and I was fortunate to have the help of my very talented friend and team member, Dawn Hunt. We made these cards “assembly line style”. The Stamparatus is a huge help when making multiples of any card. Position your stamp once and stamp all your cut pieces in the same exact place! Using the Simply Scored tool makes scoring quick and easy, too. And, these cards had LOTS of scoring!
