From Connie:

PLAYING WITH PAPER PUMPKIN

Do you subscribe to Paper Pumpkin? If not, I highly recommend it. It is a box of fun that is delivered right to your door every month, and it is filled with all sorts of great crafting supplies. You will get an ink spot and a stamp set every month, along with all the paper products and embellishments, etc. you need to complete the project. There is a sheet of instructions, and a video to show you how to assemble the kit.

Paper Pumpkin Nov 2021

November 2021 Paper Pumpkin Kit

These treat holders are adorable, and the kit gives you supplies to make 9 of them. That’s a lot of stuff, so if you don’t need 9 treat holders, you have lots of fun pieces to play with. The instruction sheet tells you all the coordinating colours in the kit, so the Stampin’ Up! colour coordination means you can add your own cardstock, ink or other products and you know the colours will be perfect together. The colours in this kit are Evening Evergreen, Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive, Pool Party and Poppy Parade.

ALTERNATE IDEAS

Snowman Fun

SNOWMAN FUN

This cute snowman is perfect for a big pop of fun on a card front. I used a Poppy Parade card base, and popped him up with Dimensionals. The sentiment is stamped in Flirty Flamingo, using one of the stamps and circle pieces from the kit.

Festive Trees

FESTIVE TREES

I used the tree for the next card. All these pieces are oversized, so you can cut them down and make even more cards! I used half the tree for this card, so I can make 2 cards from each piece from the kit, just by adding some extra card stock. The tree is popped up on a piece of Basic White cardstock, and layered on a Poppy Parade card base.

I kept this card clean and simple with lots of white space. It’s funny that many crafters struggle with white space. We love the look, but struggle not to fill all the space on a card.
Little secret – I didn’t like this card at first, but have learned to leave it on my desk overnight and look again in the morning. When I saw it the next morning, I liked it, so here it is for you!

Pretty Presents

PRETTY PRESENTS

The last card uses pieces from the stack of presents. I cut all the presents into individual pieces, and again I have plenty to make at least 2 cards with them. Then, I stamped the sentiment in Poppy Parade on a piece of Basic White cardstock and added this to a Thick Basic White card base, using Dimensionals.

The two presents at the edges are adhered flat, and I used Dimensionals to pop up the middle present.

Card for Kentucky’s Governor

Our Governor, Andy Beshear, has been a calming voice during this pandemic.  He’s urged us to stay calm and his mantra is “We will get through this; we will get through this together.”  He even asked his ASL translator, Virginia, to teach us these phrases in sign language.  I believe he has done his best to keep Kentucky residents safe, and limit the number of deaths in our state.

I had to send him a card of encouragement, so here’s what I came up with.  The COVID-19 raindrops are made using the Poppy Moments Dies.  The greeting and clouds are from a past Paper Pumpkin kit, and the Blueberry Bushel ink and cardstock are now retired.

I received a letter from Governor Andy Beshear in response.  In it, he says “I have displayed your homemade card in my office for all to see.”  Thank you, sir!

Here’s the fixin’s:
