Easter Friends Embossed Strip Card

Easter Friends Embossed Strip Lead

So hard to believe it’s almost Easter! Today I’d like to share an Easter Card using the Easter Friends Stamp Set and Double Oval Punch.

CASEing the Catalog

This card was created as a challenge from my friend, Dawn. She wanted us to CASE a card from Page 80 of the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. She chose the green card in the top right corner. CASE means to Copy and Share Everything or Copy and Selectively Edit, and that’s just what I did.

2021-2022 Annual Catalog Page 80

Change it Up!

I changed up the colors, using Highland Heather for my card base, and Crumb Cake for the panel and strips. The panel was embossed with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder and the strips were embossed with the Macrame Embossing Folder.

I stamped the bunny in Soft Suede and used my Water Painters to soften the color, then fussy cut him and adhered him using Dimensionals. The small flower in his paws is from a retired punch.

You can see how my card is totally different from the card in the catalog, yet the basic design is the same.

Details

I stamped the greeting in Highland Heather and cut it with a die from the Ornate Frames dies. Next, I mounted it onto a piece of Highland Heather punched with the Tailored Tag Punch.

The eggs are simply ovals punched from the Subtles Assorted DSP and cut in half with my snips. They are randomly tucked and glued between the strips.

Finally, I added Pastel Pearls to finish this card.

Flowering Tulips 3-Panel Card

Flowering Tulips 3-Panel Lead

It’s another FABulous Saturday and time for a FAB Stampers post. It’s my turn this month, and I’m using the Flowering Tulips Bundle for my project.

FAB Stampers Logo

From My Stampin’ Studio

Today I’m using the Flowering Tulips Bundle to create a 3-Panel Fun Fold card. This card is surprisingly easy to make, and it folds flat for mailing.

The Fold

The 3-Panel Fun Fold is so easy to make. First, I cut a piece of Rich Razzleberry cardstock to 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″. I scored it on the long side at 2″, 3 1/8″, 5 3/8″, and 6 1/2″. Fold the two score lines closest to the center back (mountain fold) and fold the two outside score lines forward (valley fold). That’s it! Now you’re ready to decorate the panels.

Flowering Tulips 3-Panel

To decorate the panels, I cut two Basic White pieces to 2″ x 5 1/4″, and two pieces of the beautiful Flowering Fields DSP (Designer Series Paper) to 1 3/4″ x 5 1/4″.

I attached the two pieces of DSP to the front outside panels, but before adhering the Basic White piece to the center front panel, I embossed it with the Meadow Moments Embossing Folder. I adhered the second piece of Basic White to the back center panel as a place to write a message (not shown).

The Details

I stamped the leaves in Evening Evergreen on Soft Succulent cardstock and cut them out, along with the stem using the coordinating Tulips Dies. After gluing the stem to the Basic White panel, I ran the leaves between my thumb and bone folder to loosen the fibers. That gave them a bit of a curve. Then I added a tiny bit of glue to each end of the leaves and a Dimensional to the center. Next, I adhered them, leaving the center of the leaves popped up for a bit more dimension.

I cut the tulip pieces from Fresh Freesia cardstock using the Tulips Dies and used my Blending Brush to add Rich Razzleberry ink to the bottom of the pieces. I adhered the inside pieces with glue dots and used a Mini Dimensional for the front flap piece.

The birthday greeting was stamped on Basic White and cut with a die from the Ornate Frames Dies.

Finally, I added Rhinestone Basic Jewels colored with my Fresh Freesia Blends to finish it off.

Awesome Otters Challenge

I made this card in response to a challenge where we were only allowed to use certain items.

This is the list of items we were allowed for the challenge:

  • One piece of DSP 4 x 5 ¼
  • One Card Base 5 ½ x 8 ½, scored at 4 ¼
  • Two pieces of coordinating Cardstock 1 ¾ x 5 ½, and 2 ¼ x 2 ¼
  • Two pieces of Basic White Cardstock 1 ½ x 5 ½, and 2 x 2

We could alter, but not add any pieces. And we were allowed to use any embellishments.

Awesome Otters

Alterations

I did alter most of my pieces. I cut the DSP into three pieces. Next, I cut both the Basic White and Misty Moonlight strips in half lengthwise, so I could spread them out a little and also cut them with the Scalloped Contours border die. I used the 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 square of Misty Moonlight to cut a circle, and then cut the piece for the greeting from INSIDE that circle. Additionally, I used the Hippo & Friends dies to cut my Basic White 2 x 2 square, stamped the otter with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Blends.

Details

I colored the cute little otter with Crumb Cake and Soft Suede blends, and the water with Balmy Blue and Misty Moonlight Blends.

I embossed the greeting on the piece cut from the center of my circle. As you can see, I need to order new embossing powder, as mine is pretty old and didn’t work as well as I would have liked.

Last, I embellished with the water drops from the Silver and Clear Epoxy Essentials.
