I know life is not all glitter, flowers and butterflies, but in my stamping world it usually is.  I’m drawn to those types of images, so I have to work at making more masculine cards.

This card is adapted from a card on Pinterest by Chiaki Haverstick.  You can find her card here.  I added the ribbon, linen thread and greeting.

We used one of the new Layering Squares Framelits to cut a scrap piece of cardstock to use as a mask and laid it on top of our white card and sponged with Marina Mist and Crumb Cake inside the square.  We stamped the sandpipers with the mask still in place, and then removed it to stamp the sea grass.

Here’s the fixin’s:

Stamps:  Wetlands

Cardstock:  Marina Mist, Early Espresso, Whisper White

Ink:  Marina Mist, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso

Dies:  Layering Square Framelits, Layering Oval Framelits

Other:  Early Espresso Seam Binding (vintage), linen thread, stamping sponges

Seaside Shore Shaker

This was the bonus project at a recent Cards & More class.  It’s a shaker card, filled with sand and a pinch of gold glitter.  Shaker cards are so easy with our new layering thinlit dies!

The pier posts are simply individual “boards” cut from the hardwood stamp that is also used in the background, and wrapped with linen thread.

Here’s the fixin’s:

Stamps:  Seaside Shore, Hardwood

Cardstock:  Smoky Slate, Calypso Coral, Very Vanilla

Ink:  Basic Gray, Calypso Coral, Night of Navy, Pool Party, Mint Macaron

Dies:  Layering Square Framelits

Other:  Window Sheet, Foam Adhesive Strips, Gold Stampin’ Glitter, Sand
