I wanted to send you this extra post to show you these projects from my April class before it’s too late! I’m sorry I haven’t had time to post these before, but here they are! It’s Saturday and time for another FAB Stampers Post. This week Connie shares a few of her favorite projects that start with the wonderful Oceanfront Stamp Set.
It Starts at the Ocean
I love creating pictures with my stamps, and this set is ideal for creating peaceful oceanfront scenes. The different shaped stamps layer together to create sand, sea and sky. Grassy accents finish the scene and create a serene picture.
My sentiment stamp set for today is Go To Greetings. It is such a versatile set, that it’s perfect for any occasion.
Adding More to the Picture
For this card, I added elements from the Heron Habitat Bundle. This is one of my favourite bundles – at least right now! We have a Blue Heron that lives on our lake, and I love seeing him fly around, or standing near shore watching for fish. To create my heron, I inked my stamp with Smoky Slate ink, then used a sponge dauber to add Starry Sky ink to give him blue feathers. I cut him out with the coordinating die from the bundle and added him to the card with Dimensionals. The birds on this card are also from the Heron Habitat stamp set.
Changing Directions
Even though it starts at the ocean, it doesn’t need to stop there, so for my last card I changed my colour scheme from ocean to land and used images from the Grassy Grove stamp set. It is easy to change the feeling of your card just by changing ink colours.
I stamped the sentiment, fussy cut it and popped up with Dimensionals. Maybe because it is a neat idea and looks great on the card, but more likely, I did it because the first time I stamped my sentiment it was crooked!! I love that in card making there are no mistakes, only opportunities.
