Five Ways to Use Washi Tape

Washi Tape Group

I hope you’ll enjoy these Five Ways to Use Washi Tape generously shared with us by Kivonne.

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays.   I love the colors, costumes, and giving out candy to the trick and treaters.   I am so excited about Stampin’ Up!’s Glitter Washi Tape!   Glitter Washi Tape is found on page 57 in the July-December Mini Catalog.   It’s been a while since we have had this product and I wanted to show you some different ways to create cards with this beautiful glittery washi tape.

Five Ways to Use Washi Tape to Create Halloween Cards

Washi Tape Group

Punch

  • Take a small piece of 3×3 thick basic white card stock.
  • Add the glitter washi tape to the cardstock at an angle.  I use my silicone craft pad to help me out.
  • Once you finish taping your cardstock, cut off all the overhang of washi tape.
  • Put the cover basic white into the Witch Hat Builder Punch. Punch out the witch’s hat.
  • Assemble the card

Yes, my witch’s hat moves.  It’s attached with a small wobble (non-Stampin’ Up). Remember to decorate the inside of the card and your envelope

Die Cut

  • Do the same steps as above but put the washi tape on the basic white card stock in a straight line.
  • Use the Stampin’ emboss & cut machine to die cut your image.
  • Assemble the card

On DSP

  • I wanted straight lines as a background for the DSP (Designer Series Paper).   (You can also use washi in diagonal lines).  Cut off the overhang.
  • Assemble card

Frame

  • 3 ½” x 4 ¼” piece of Basic White
  • Take the glitter purple washi tape and make a frame around the end of the cardstock.
  • Assemble the card

Background

  • Took a piece of Black & White Designs DSP and added glitter washi tape
  • Cut off the overlap.
  • Assemble the card

I hope you’ve enjoyed these projects and the different ways to use Washi Tape. I also hope you’ll be inspired to create your own projects with this beautiful glittery tape!

Introducing FAB Stampers!

FAB Stampers - Connie - Forever Fern 1

A New Adventure

I’m super excited to share FAB Stampers with you! This is something new I’ve been working on with my friend and fellow demonstrator, Connie Douglas. Connie is a demonstrator in Wasaga Beach, Ontario, Canada, and we’ve been friends for several years. We’ve even been able to meet up a couple of times, back when we had in-person Conventions in Salt Lake City.

FAB Stampers – A Collaboration

Connie and I decided that our customers deserve to see different styles of stamping and lots of FABulous projects. So, with that in mind, we will be working together to share some great stamping projects with you, as we share blog posts. You will know when a blog post is one that we are sharing as you will see our new logo in the pictures.

Heeeeeeere’s Connie!

Without further ado, here’s our very first FAB Stampers post, a project from Connie!

Hello! I’m Connie Douglas. Today it is my turn to share a blog post, so let’s get started.

Today I have a great layout for you. It is great for lots of reasons; it is easy to create, it shows off our beautiful Designer Series Paper, and it is very flexible – you can arrange your pieces in lots of different ways.

Forever Fern – Sample 1

I have used the Forever Fern stamp set for all my cards today, but changed some of the other elements. The sentiment on this card is from Lovely You, and is perfect for sending a card for no reason other than to brighten someone’s day. My background DSP is Evening Evergreen from the 2021-2023 In Colour 6×6 DSP. The smaller piece of DSP is from the Beauty of the Earth DSP. I have used Evening Evergreen ink along with Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen cardstock. This card is embellished with the Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots.

Forever Fern – Sample 2 & 3

For the next two cards I used the You’re A Peach Designer Series Paper, swapping the front and back pieces of DSP. Both cards have Pale Papaya cardstock and Calypso Coral cardstock and ink. The sentiment is from Timeless Tulips. Both cards are embellished with Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Measurements

These cards are easy to make so grab your supplies and get all the measurements here.
Card Base – 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, score at 4 1/4
DSP – 4 x 5 1/5, 2 1/2 x 3 1/4
Coloured Cardstock – 2 3/4 x 3 1/2, 2 1/2 x 2 7/8
Neutral Cardstock – 2 1/4 x 2 5/8
You will also need a strip for the sentiment in either a light colour or a neutral.
Have fun!
