From My Craft Cabin in Kentucky

It’s another FABulous Saturday and time for a new FAB Stampers post. It’s my turn this week, and I’m making a gift for my Mother-in-law using the Daffodil Daydream Bundle. I did Google Mother’s Day to be sure it’s celebrated in both Canada and Australia!

Daffodil Daydream Bundle

The Daffodil Daydream Bundle is a very versatile set of products. It has beautiful stamps, including a lovely border stamp and speckles that can add so much to a project. The dies will cut out the stamped images, but this set also includes dies to make your own daffodils! Those dies are what I’m using for my project.

Not just for cards!

I know you see a lot of cards on my blog, but our products aren’t just for cards. You can create so many things, including scrapbook pages, decorations and treats for parties and celebrations, and home decor items like this framed piece. This project was inspired by my friend, Colleen, who made a card like this.

How it’s made

First, I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to fit my frame, and embossed it with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder to give it texture.

Next, I cut the daffodil backgrounds from Basic White, the daffodil detail from So Saffron, and the stems and leaves from Soft Sea Foam. I arranged the stems like I wanted and glued them to the background. For one of the leaves, I curled it a bit with my Bone Folder and adhered only the top and bottom of the leaf, leaving it bowed in the middle for dimension. The flowers pieces are glued together, then adhered to the background with Dimensionals.

I stamped the greeting on Basic White with Soft Sea Foam ink, cut it with a die from Stitched Rectangles, and adhered it with Dimensionals.

Finally, I added three Polished Dots for a little sparkle.

It’s time for another FAB Stampers post, and today we’re making a fairly simple, yet elegant, Daffodil Daydream Slimline Easter card.

Hello Stampers! I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for Winter to be over, and what could herald the Spring season better than daffodils?

Daffodil Daydream Bundle

I wanted this to be a fairly simple card, so I chose a single daffodil as my focal point. This was made with the Daffodil Dies in the Daffodil Daydream Bundle. I used So Saffron and Mango Melody for the flower and Pear Pizzazz for the stem and leaf. These dies are amazing! Can you imagine how beautiful a bouquet of these would be?

Slim Card Dies

Slimline cards are currently quite popular and Stampin’ Up! has a set of dies perfect for this size card. I used one of the Slim Card Dies to make the white background on this card. The die actually cuts out ALL of the little designs, but as you can see, I added a few of them back in here and there to create a little more interest.

I only used the Slim Card Dies for this card, but they also come bundled with the Slim Sayings Stamp Set. This stamp set has large greetings, that when added to a card decorated with the Slimline Dies, makes a quick and easy, yet very impressive card.

Slimline Envelopes

My Soft Seafoam card measures 3 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and will fit in a regular business envelope. Or, if you want to dress it up a bit, Stampin’ Up! has a set of 15 decorated slimline envelopes you may purchase.

The Details

I stamped the greeting with Pear Pizzazz ink and cut it out using a die from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies set. It is adhered with Dimensionals.

Of course, no project can be called finished until I’ve added a little bling. I thought the Brushed Brass Butterflies were the perfect addition.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this pretty spring card!
