Layering Leaves in Petal Pink

Layering Leaves in Petal Pink

Today I’m showing you a variation of a card we are making in Stamp Club this month. I had some pretty foil DSP I wanted to use, and I had the stamps out, so I decided to make a card using Layering Leaves in Petal Pink.

Weeds or Wildflowers?

My husband took his 90-year-old mother to Pittsburg, PA to bowl in the Senior Olympics this week. They left a week ago today, and we’d just returned from our camping trip to the Smoky Mountains, so our yard did not get mowed before he left.

I looked out one day and all those tall spindly weeds had bloomed into pretty little yellow wildflowers. Steve always keeps the yard nicely mowed, so they’d never had the chance to bloom before. Steve is on his way home, so I know they’ll be gone by tonight or tomorrow, but they were kinda pretty for a couple of days.

My card uses the Layering Leaves Stamp Set and the coordinating Bough Punch. You’ll also find step-by-step instructions below.

Instructions:

  1. Cut a piece of Petal Pink cardstock 5 ½” x 8 1/2”.  Score at 4 1/4” and fold for card base.
  2. Cut a panel of Basic White 4”x5 ¼”.  Stamp sprinkles across panel using Petal Pink ink, then emboss panel with Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder.  Attach to card base.
  3. Cut a ½”x4” strip of Brushed Metallic Specialty DSP and attach across white embossed panel.
  4. Stamp greeting in Petal Pink ink on white scrap and cut with Something Fancy die.  Adhere to DSP strip with single Dimensional.
  5. Stamp solid leaves and outline leaves on white scraps with Granny Apple Green ink.  Color outline leaves with filler stamp in Soft Sea Foam and punch with coordinating Bough Punch.
  6. Stamp flowers in Petal Pink on white scrap and punch with Bough Punch.  Attach leaves and flowers to card with glue, tucking them under the sentiment.

Embellish with rhinestones colored with Calypso Coral Blends.

A Cute Layout Trio

I apologize for the lateness of this post. I have been having internet issues. We are now into a new catalog, so some of these items may not be available. BUT, as you can see, you can use your own supplies with this versatile fun and cute layout.

Get ready for a FAB (Friends Across Borders) post today that celebrates easy crafting with a cute layout and cards that are fun to make.

FAB Stampers Logo

Connie’s Been Busy!

This is a fun layout that you can use to create lots of cards that show off pretty Designer Series Paper and fun punched or die cut images. Each card looks different depending on the DSP you use and the other elements you add. This first card is so cute!

A Cute Layout Ladybugs

Hello Ladybug!

I used the super cute Ladybug builder punch for this card. I stamped the Real Red wings with Memento Black ink dots using the stamp from the Hello Ladybug stamp set.

All my cards today use the Heart and Home DSP. This paper has some pretty patterns and colours, and I love the woodgrain side to add just a little interest when I really want to show off other elements of my card.

A Cute Layout Dragonflies

Dragonfly Garden

The second card shows the wonderful bumblebee print from the DSP package, and I accented it with some dragonflies stamped with Cinnamon Cider ink on Pale Papaya cardstock. Don’t forget that there are only a few days left to get the last chance products like Cinnamon Cider ink and cardstock, and the Gilded Gems I used on this card.

A Cute Layout Daisies

Daisies

For the final card I used both the Daisy Punch, which is retiring, and the Medium Daisy Punch which will carryover to the new annual catalogue to create some pretty flowers for my card. The leaves are punched from Night of Navy cardstock using the Bough Punch, which will also continue to be available.

So, gather some pretty Designer Series Paper, some of your favourite punches, and get ready to create some cute and easy cards!
