Parisian Flourish CASE

Today, we’ll show you Connie’s version of the card I challenged her to CASE! She used the Parisian Flourish Embossing Folder for her card.

The Challenge

I challenged Connie to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) this card from page 45 of the new January-June 2022 Mini Catalog.

From Connie

For my card I decided to use products from the Annual Catalogue, so you will find everything there.

I started with the Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder, and applied Night of Navy ink to one side. I placed my Fresh Freesia cardstock inside, and embossed. This made the background of my cardstock Night of Navy, and the embossed part is Fresh Freesia.

This is a fun and easy technique and can be done with any Embossing Folder and on either side of the folder for different looks.  Once embossed, I cut the cardstock  into 3 1/2 x 3/4 inch strips.

I used 1/4 inch strips of Fresh Freesia on the base of my Thick Basic White card base.

I cut one of the Square Vellum Doilies in half, and put half at each edge of my card base.

My embossed strips were attached randomly across, and the sentiment pieces were popped up on top with Dimensionals. I used two stamp sets for my sentiment pieces, Artistically Inked and A Wish For Everything.

I embellished the card with lots of pretty shine from the sequins in the Expressions In Ink Ephemera Pack.

Welcome Back, Connie!

Just in time for Thanksgiving (here in the USA), we have another project from Connie Douglas, my friend in Canada! Without further ado, here’s Connie!

Let’s Get Started

Hello, I’m Connie, and today I have another FAB Stampers card to share with you. Who are FAB Stampers you ask? Friends Across Borders – FAB Stampers is the name of our group that shares creative ideas with you so you can enjoy different stamping styles and projects. Let’s get started.

Have you played with the Blackberry Beauty 12 x 12 Specialty Designer Series Paper? It is a stunning collection of elegant pages to make any project extra special.

Blackberry Beauty Thanks Lead

It’s a Beauty

This SDSP is part of the Blackberry Beauty Suite, which includes the Beauty of Tomorrow stamp set. The card today though uses the Artistically Inked stamp set. I felt the elegant font on the ‘thanks’ was the perfect match for the beauty of the paper. I love how Stampin’ Up! products mix and match so beautifully, for the ultimate coordination and versatility.

I started with a Blackberry Bliss standard card base (8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored at 4 1/4). I followed with a layer of Cinnamon Cider cut to 5 1/4 x 4. The sentiment is stamped directly on this layer with Blackberry Bliss ink.

I often stamp my sentiment on another layer of cardstock, and even pop it up with Dimensionals. But for this card I wanted to let the gorgeous paper be the star, so kept the sentiment more subtle.

Don’t worry though, I DID use Dimensionals on this card (because I always have them somewhere!). I adhered the Cinnamon Cider layer to the card base using Dimensionals, so there is still some ‘pop’ on this card!

The SDSP is 5 1/4 x 2, and layered on a piece of Gold Foil cut 5 1/4 x 2 1/4. I tied a bow around this section using Gold 3/8” Shimmer Ribbon because you can’t have too much shine!

I also stamped some flowers on the inside piece to make it special as well.

I love how elegant this card is, and hope it will make the recipient know how special they are, and how thankful I am.

I’d love for you to visit my blog at GreatStampingWithConnie to see more of my projects. And, if you’re in Canada, I’d be honoured to have your business. You can find my store at my link above.
