Sweet Little Stockings Dog Treat

Merry Christmas!!

I hope you are having a wonderful holiday.  It’s my turn to do a project for FAB Stampers, and I hope you’ll enjoy this one.  We have two dogs at our house, and we wouldn’t want to forget them, so I made this cute Sweet Little Stockings Dog Treat.

Sweet Little Stockings Dog Treat

I used the Sweet Little Stockings bundle to make this treat.  The last time I checked, this bundle was still available to purchase, but if you’d like it, don’t delay!  It will be gone in just a few days.

First, I took one of the Acetate Card Boxes and cut it in half (you can make two treats with one box). I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock 4 3/8” x 5”, scored it on the long side at 3” and 3 5/8”.  Then, I embossed it with the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder.  When folded on the score lines, this will slide into the box and provide the “lid” for the box.  I ran Stampin’ Seal adhesive along the back bottom edge of this piece and CAREFULLY placed it into the box, then pressed it with my bone folder, so that the bottom of the embossed piece is sealed to the inside flap of the acrylic box.  This will keep it in place.

I filled the box with dog treats (it will hold seven small Milk Bones) and closed the embossed “lid” using a mini glue dot, which will be easy to remove.  I wrapped the Real Red 3/8” Mini Ruffled Ribbon (15”) around the flap and tied a knot.  This will easily slide off when you want to open the box.

Details

I stamped the dog with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a scrap of crumb cake and cut him out with the corresponding die.  I stamped the smaller stocking in the same black ink on a piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock and cut it out, as well.  The stocking top and toe/heel are cut from scraps of Basic White and Real Red.  I used glue to adhere these together.

I used another scrap of crumb cake to cut out the scalloped rectangle from the Scalloped Contours Dies, and stamped the greeting with Shaded Spruce ink.

These pieces are attached with dimensionals, and I placed those only on the bottom and center of the stocking, so the box flap will open without tearing the cute little dog.

What About Cats?

I know Connie has cats, and guess what?!  There’s also a cute cat included in this set.  There’s even another cute little animal, which I believe is either a hamster or guinea pig, so lots of options.
