Today we are going to use the Perfectly Penciled DSP (Designer Series Paper) along with a card sketch as our inspiration for a Thank-You card.
Using a Card Sketch
Like all sketches, card sketches act as a starting point for your creativity. You can change the orientation and get creative with the shapes and elements you add to them.
This is the card sketch we’ll be using today.
Perfectly Penciled DSP
This paper features sketched flower designs alongside fabulous backgrounds, such as stripes, dots and other repeating patterns. You may use the papers as they are or add color to them by sponging or spritzing. You can also color in the flowers with any of your coloring tools. For this project I left them as black and white designs.
Our Card
To create our card, I used a piece of Designer Series paper with a small all-over flower design for the background. Next, I added a strip of striped paper horizontally and trimmed the corners. This is added to a standard sized Basic Black card base.

Instead of circles, I used the stitched squares from the Stylish Shapes Dies to cut the mats in the center of the card using Basic Black and Basic White cardstock. A bow of Black Twine was adhered to the back before the mats were added with Dimensionals.
Our Focal Point
I used a section of flowers cut from one of the papers and cut sections of this to layer onto the squares. Some pieces were added with glue and others were raised up with Dimensionals. I also added two butterflies from the paper.

A sentiment from the Nature’s Harvest stamp set was added to the bottom of the center panel. To finish, sprinkle on a few of the black and white Classic Matte dots.
Give it a Go
These papers are beautiful and provide so many creative opportunities. Whether you use these papers, or experiment with a totally different selection of products do give the sketch a go. Just by changing elements and colors you can use the same basic layout yet create totally different looks.
