Artistic Mix Decorative Masks

If you have not crafted with the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks, then you must give them a try! These Masks will help you create advanced designs and add a wow factor to all your cards.

Gold Medals!!

If you saw my last post, you know that my husband, Steve, took his mother to bowl in the Senior Olympics in Pittsburgh last week.

Bev and Rose

My Mother-in-law, Bev (90), and her friend, Rose (94), earned Gold medals in the Doubles event. What an amazing achievement!

Artistic Mix Decorative Masks

The Artistic Mix Decorative Masks set includes stencils with stripe and tile patterns that you can place singly or together; you can layer the masks to create advanced designs, such as checkered, Moroccan, and more.

Try creating textured backgrounds with the masks and our Embossing Paste. The masks are versatile enough for crafting all year long and for many occasions and you can pair with your favorite stamp sets for even more versatility.

Artistic Mix with Quiet Meadow

Here’s one idea to try.

Measurements:

  • Mossy Meadow:                 8 ½” x 5 ½”, ¼” x 5” (x2), ¼” x 2”
  • Basic White:                       5” x 3 ¾”, 2” x 5”, ½” x 2”

Instructions:

  1. Fold Mossy Meadow card stock in half and score to create card base.
  2. Lay Artistic Mix mask on top of Basic White layer and secure in place (using, for example, washi tape).
  3. Ink Blending Brush using Copper Clay ink and apply ink over mask in a circular motion. Remove mask and adhere layer to card front.
  4. Ink flower image using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and stamp onto smaller Basic White layer. Color using Mossy Meadow and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.
  5. Ink phrase using Copper Clay ink and stamp onto Basic White strip. Adhere Mossy Meadow strip under phrase using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  6. Adhere 2 Mossy Meadow strips under flower layer and then adhere to the card front.
  7. Adhere phrase layer to card front above flower.
  8. Add 3 Copper Clay dots to card front to complete card.

Are You Ready for Fresh New Colors?

Fresh New Colors

Every few years, Stampin’ Up! refreshes their core color collection to keep current with the color trends in fashion and home décor industries. This is the year they have chosen to do a refresh and we have a total of 11 colors being added to the core color families. See all of these Fresh New Colors below!

Fresh New Colors

There are four Fresh New Colors – Azure Afternoon, Pecan Pie, Lemon Lolly, and Bubble Bath.

Plus, seven previous In-Colors are returning, including several of my favorites. These are Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst, Misty Moonlight, Pretty Peacock, Blueberry Bushel, Lost Lagoon, and Fresh Freesia (which was one of the just retired set of 2021-2023 In Colors). These are scattered throughout the core color families.

Five New 2023-2025 In Colors

Add to these 11 new colors in the Color Collection, the 5 new 2023-2025 In Colors and you have a total of 16 new choices. Wow! That is a lot and can be a bit pricy to build your new color collection when you consider cardstock, ink pads, markers, Stampin’ Blends, and embellishments in the new colors. My suggestion is to start with your favorite color family, whether it be Subtles, Regals, Neutrals, or Brights, and fill in the new colors of that family first. If you have been a fan of Stampin’ Up! for a few years, you may still have many of the returning colors in your stash. That’s great! I had all of them.

Check Those Ink Pads

Check the ink pads to see if they need reinking. I always recommend purchasing the coordinating refill with the ink pad. Hopefully you’ve done this. If you don’t have the refills, you may want to replace the old pads because the new refills may have a slightly different chemical composition than the old ones or the old ones may have changed slightly over the years and will not match the new refills.

Assorted Packs of New Core Colors

Stampin’ Up! offers a collection of the new core colors, and the ink pads have 10% discount. They are listed below:

  • 8 ½” x 11” Cardstock – 2 sheets each of 11 colors (161702) $11.00 each
  • 12” x 12” Cardstock – 2 sheets each of 11 colors (161711) $14.00 each
  • Classic Stampin’ Pad Bundle – 11 pads – 1 of each color (161683) $89.00 each (10% discounted)
  • Stampin’ Write Markers – 11 markers, 1 each of 11 colors (161694) $38.50 each
Product List

Similar bundles are available for the 2023-2025 In Colors with the stamp pad bundle having a 10% discount.

I’m excited about the new colors. My favorite ones right now are Lemon Lolly and Bubble Bath. Which ones excite you? Which will you order first?

Snowfall Accents Puff Paint

Snowfall Accents 1

Today’s post is an introduction to the Snowfall Accents Puff Paint. You can find it in the 2022 July-December Mini Catalog on page 43. Puff Paint is the perfect accent for your Christmas and Winter projects.

Snowfall Accents Puff Paint

Snowfall Accents Puff Paint is advertised by Stampin’ Up! As a wintry accent for creating perfect puffs of snow. It does do this very well.

Easy to Use

Simply shake the bottle before using, apply a thin coating to your artwork and use the Heat Tool to transform it into festive 3D snowflake accents.

A Few Examples

Not Just for Snow

Snowfall Accents Puff paint is not just for snow!  This decorative accent can be used for so many more creative accents.  Such as:

  • Beverage foam – any beverage that has a foamy layer on top – such as a freshly poured mug beer or a root beer float
  • Whipped Cream – top off a dessert image or ice cream shake with a topping of fluffy whipped cram
  • Marshmallows – add dimension to a s’more dessert image or a cup of hot cocoa with marshmallows floating on top
  • Bubble Bath – imagine a bubble bath overflowing with bubbles – give those bubbles some dimension & texture with this puff paint
  • Clouds – add dimension to images of clouds to emphasize
  • Stones – give a stone walkway some dimension by adding puff paint to the stones. Then add color after heat setting with a Stampin’ Write Marker or Blends Marker.

Note: Stampin’ Up! Does warn that applying the paint over a stamped image may cause the ink to smear. I did not experience this, but I suggest you test a sample before applying the paint to a piece of artwork that you have spent a lot of time working on.
