Love, Santa Kit

Love, Santa Kit cards Lead

Today’s Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop is focused on having fun with kits. I chose the Love, Santa kit. Although this kit is currently unavailable, I’m hoping it will be back soon. If not, at least you’ll see how to use kits in alternate ways.

Love, Santa Kit

The Love, Santa Kit is a cute Christmas tag kit. You could also purchase a Project Kit which includes cello treat bags, in addition to the regular tag kit supplies.

Tags to Cards

I recently held a class where we used this tag kit. Instead of making tags, I prepared card bases, and we made twelve Christmas cards, using the tags as our focal point. Each person had their own kit, so everyone had their own stamps and Night of Navy ink spot. I supplied the card bases, matching layer, and a white insert for the inside of the cards, along with additional ink colors.

Leaves and Berries

For this card, we used a Just Jade card base and layer. We stamped the background leaves in Soft Sea Foam as we wanted the background to be more subtle than the Just Jade ink. Our tag is attached with Dimensionals.

Merry Santa

For Merry Santa, we used Night of Navy for our card base and layer and stamped Merry in Night Of Navy diagonally across the layer as a background. We cut the tag loop off Santa and adhered him with Dimensionals.

Truck Full of Presents

This card base is Real Red and the presents on the background layer are stamped in Real Red. The tag loop was removed and the truck and presents were adhered with Dimensionals.

Oh, Christmas Tree

For our tree card, we stamped the Bumble Bee background layer using the leaf stamp and So Saffron ink as we wanted a more subtle background than the Bumble Bee ink. The tag loop was removed and the tree was adhered with Dimensionals.

A Dozen Christmas Cards Done!

On the inside of each card, we placed a white panel stamped with the same stamps and ink as our background. At the end of this class, we each had twelve handmade Christmas cards finished. Not bad for one afternoon!

A Little Smile For You To Share!

A Little Smile Mini Card Kit

A Little Smile card kit.

Did you miss me?

I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted. Thanks to my wonderful customers and team, Steve and I spent a heavenly week in Maui, on the Stampin’ Up! Elite Incentive Trip. We enjoyed relaxing and took a much needed rest at the beautiful Grand Wailea Resort.

A New Look

While we were gone, Brian and Nicole from Integrant Services updated my blog. I hope you like the changes!! Didn’t Nicole do a great job with my new logo?

Let’s Get Going

To get back in the swing, it’s time for another Blog Hop with my friends from Australia. This week, we are highlighting the new Stampin’ Up! Kit Collection.

I chose the A Little Smile Kit. This cute tropical kit makes 8 mini cards, and comes with a cute little mini card case to hold them all. This is an all-inclusive kit, which means it contains EVERYTHING you need to make these cards!

Two of the cards use pre-printed palm trees that are easily punched out to adhere as you choose.

The remaining two cards use shells, palm fronds and vellum die cuts.

I think they’re all super cute!

You may be asking what you would do with mini cards. I like to slip them inside a gift, or inside a book I’ve borrowed from a friend. Another favorite thing to do is take the mini cards when we travel (like our recent trip to Maui or on a cruise). They are the perfect size to give extra tips to those who have gone above and beyond to make our vacation wonderful.

What ideas do you have for these cute little cards? I’d love to hear in the comments below.

Now, let’s see what Leonie’s been up to.
