Storybook Moments Squares

Storybook Moments Squares Front

I recently attended Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage in Raleigh, NC. It was such a fun trip! Six members of my team attended, three I had never met, so it was great getting to know them.

OnStage Team Dinner

Of course we had to do some stamping, so we decided on a shoe box swap. If you haven’t heard of a shoe box swap, each of us prepared one project for everyone else to make. It was great fun and everyone participated!

One of my team members, Kathryn, made this cute card for her Shoebox Swap. I loved it so much that we did it in class last month.

I’ve seen this design with other stamp sets, too. It makes such a cute card.

Storybook Moments Suite

I call this a MEGA Suite becuase it has TWO bundles (stamps and dies), TWO sets of Designer Series Paper (DSP), Ribbon and Embellishments! The Storybook Friends Bundle has so many cute animals, and the Storybook Garden Patch Bundle is all about plants and vegetables.

One of my favorite products is the Timeless Plaid DSP that is so versatile!

When I cut the squares (1 1/4″), I was left with a 1″ strip of the DSP, which I cut into 1/2″ strips for the inside of the card. This was a part of Kathryn’s design.

Storybook Moments Spring Treat

Storybook Moments Sweet Treat

I’m so happy to see signs of Spring everywhere, aren’t you? So, today’s project is a Storybook Moments Sweet Spring Treat that I designed and created.

Storybook Moments Suite Collection

For this sweet treat, I’m using products from the Storybook Moments Suite Collection. I love using Suites because everything is already coordinated for you and you just can’t go wrong.

I call this a MEGA Suite because it has TWO stamp and die bundles, plus TWO different DSP (Designer Series Paper) packs, along with ribbon and embellishments. Throw in some coordinating cardstock and you’re all set to make beautiful projects!

Storybook Moments Sweet Treat

This is a tiny little treat and contains a chocolate carrot. I found the candy at my local dollar store in a mesh bag of eight. I thought they’d make a perfect Spring treat.

I created this box specifically to fit the chocolate carrots.

How It’s Made

Measurements

Lost Lagoon Cardstock – 3” x 5 ¾”

Basic White Cardstock – ½” x 2 ½”, 1 ¼” x 2”

Storybook Moments DSP – 1 1/8” x 1 ¾”

Instructions:

  1. Score Lost Lagoon on short side at ½” from either side.  Score on long side at ½”, 1 ¼”, 2 ½”, 3 ¼”, 4 ½”.  If you don’t want to see a score line on the back of your project score only from the edge to the first intersecting score line on either side at the 4 ½” mark.
  • On both of the long sides, cut each score line up to the first intersecting score line.  Cut away the four corner sections.  Wedge the edges of the four small flaps and the flap on the end.  Use the smallest Perennial Postage die to cut a window in the 1 ¼” section.  See picture below.
Storybook Moments Sweet Treat Cutting
  • Use bone folder to burnish all score lines.  Fold bottom section into box shape.  Fold flat on score line just under window.  Apply glue to end flap and tuck under, sealing to back of box.  See picture below.
Storybook Moments Sweet Treat Glueing
  • Fold in small flaps on one end, then larger flaps, leaving front flap last to give a nice finished edge from the front.  Apply glue across back edge of last flap to seal box.  Add treat and repeat on the other end.
  • Stamp carrot in Mossy Meadow on white and color with Blends.  Cut out with coordinating die.  Stamp sentiment in Lost Lagoon on white strip and use Snips to cut ends diagonally.
  • Adhere DSP to top section, snip end of carrot and adhere with glue.  Add sentiment with Dimensionals.
  • Embellish with Antique Pearls.

Excellent Eggs Surprise

Excellent Eggs Surprise Open

Are you looking for a fun Easter card with something a little different? This Excellent Eggs Surprise card may be just what you’re looking for. It uses the Excellent Eggs Bundle and the Lighter than Air DSP (Designer Series Paper) and has a little bit of interaction, too!

Excellent Eggs Surprise

This fun little card has a balmy blue card base of 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″, scored and folded at 4 1/4″ on the long side to make a 4 1/4″ square.

The background is a 4″ square of the striped Lighter than Air DSP adhered to the card base.

I used the smallest open egg die to cut a Balmy Blue egg, and the detailed egg die to cut a Pool Party egg and glued these together.

Excellent Eggs Surprise

Excellent Eggs Surprise Open

I used the large open egg die to cut an egg from both Bubble Bath and the diamond pattern DSP. I used the scallop die to cut the DSP egg into two pieces (top and bottom) slightly lower than halfway.

Next, I glued the bottom of the DSP egg to the Bubble Bath egg. I aligned the top of the DSP egg with the bottom and used my Take Your Pick tool to punch a small hole through both the DSP and cardstock on the right side and inserted a mini round white brad.

With the DSP egg open, I stamped the greeting in Balmy Blue on the Bubble Bath egg.

I attached the Bubble Bath and DSP egg to the card front, and added the detailed cardstock egg with Dimensionals.

Finally, I added a twine bow and Rainbow Adhesive Backed Dots to embellish.
