Excellent Eggs Surprise

Are you looking for a fun Easter card with something a little different? This Excellent Eggs Surprise card may be just what you’re looking for. It uses the Excellent Eggs Bundle and the Lighter than Air DSP (Designer Series Paper) and has a little bit of interaction, too!

This fun little card has a balmy blue card base of 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″, scored and folded at 4 1/4″ on the long side to make a 4 1/4″ square.

The background is a 4″ square of the striped Lighter than Air DSP adhered to the card base.

I used the smallest open egg die to cut a Balmy Blue egg, and the detailed egg die to cut a Pool Party egg and glued these together.

Excellent Eggs Surprise

I used the large open egg die to cut an egg from both Bubble Bath and the diamond pattern DSP. I used the scallop die to cut the DSP egg into two pieces (top and bottom) slightly lower than halfway.

Next, I glued the bottom of the DSP egg to the Bubble Bath egg. I aligned the top of the DSP egg with the bottom and used my Take Your Pick tool to punch a small hole through both the DSP and cardstock on the right side and inserted a mini round white brad.

With the DSP egg open, I stamped the greeting in Balmy Blue on the Bubble Bath egg.

I attached the Bubble Bath and DSP egg to the card front, and added the detailed cardstock egg with Dimensionals.

Finally, I added a twine bow and Rainbow Adhesive Backed Dots to embellish.

Gotta Love that Sloth

Instructions

Cut Thick White Cardstock to 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″ and fold for card base.
Cut Garden Green Cardstock strips (x2) to 1 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ and emboss with the Fern Embossing Folder.
Cut three sets of jungle leaves (two in Granny Apple Green and one in Garden Green) and two sets of vines (one each in Granny Apple Green and Garden Green).
Stamp sloth image in Memento Ink on Basic White scrap, color with Blends and cut out with coordinating die. Stamp sentiment on Basic White scrap and cut out with Stylish Shapes die.
Measure in on each side of card front 1 3/8″ and draw a pencil line. This will show you what area you have to work with and the pencil lines will be covered when you add the fern panels.
Lay vines and sloth on the card to decide on your placement. Remove pieces and add a circle of Lemon Lime Twist ink with a Small Blending Brush where your sloth will be attached. Add Pool Party Ink with a Small Blending Brush around Lemon Lime Twist area between pencil lines.
Glue leaves and vines to card front, using the pencil marks as a guide. Add fern panels and sloth with Dimensionals. Attach greeting with glue.
Embellish with Brushed Brass Butterflies.

Little Monkey

Today’s project is a cute little jungle scene using the new Little Monkey Bundle and Fresh as a Daisy DSP. Who knew daisy paper would work so well with this cute monkey?

Little Monkey Bundle

This bundle includes both the stamp set and punch. The punch will cut out the monkey and a banana. There are also separate punch areas for the monkey face and inner ears, in case you want to change the colors for those.

Here’s the How-To:

Instructions

Cut Garden Green cardbase 5 ½” x 8 ½”, score at 4 ¼”. Cut Basic White panel 4” x 5 ¼”. Cut Garden green panel 2 ¾” x 4 1/8”. Cut DSP 3 ¾” x 5”.
Use deckled rectangle die to cut center from previously cut Basic White panel. This is a paper saver as you won’t see the hole in the cardstock once it is covered by the DSP.
Adhere Basic White panel (with hole) to Garden Green cardbase. Adhere DSP to Basic White panel (this covers the hole).
Stamp branch in Memento Tuxedo Black and color with Pebbled Path and Granny Apple Green Blends. Stamp greeting in Garden Green.
Use blending brush to lightly add Lemon Lolly ink to area of card where monkey will be adhered. Adhere to Garden Green Panel. Adhere to card with Dimensionals.
Stamp monkey and banana in Memento Tuxedo Black on scrap of Basic White cardstock. Color with Crumb Cake, Copper Clay, Daffodil Delight, and Lemon Lolly Blends. Cut out with Paper Snips and adhere to card with Dimensionals.
Embellish with Adhesive Backed Solid Gems.
