Welcome, Sweet Pea

Welcome Sweet Pea Card

If you’re in need of a Quick & Easy baby card, this Welcome, Sweet Pea card takes only minutes to create! In pastel yellows and greens, it could be for a boy or a girl, so make a few to have on hand.

Welcome, Sweet Pea

Here’s How:

  1. Cut Lemon Lolly cardstock to 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″. Score at 4 1/4″ on the long side and fold for card base.
  2. Cut a Soft Sea Foam panel to 3 1/2″ x 5 1/2″. Cut a circle from the center of this panel (it will be covered up) using the 10th largest Deckled Circles Die. Attach panel (with hole) to front of cardbase approximately 1/4″ from the bottom.
  3. Next, cut a Basic White panel to 3 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and emboss with the Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere to Soft Sea Foam panel on card base (covering the hole).
  4. Cut a Basic Black circle using the 11th largest Deckled Circles Die. Adhere to the center of the Soft Sea Foam Circle.
  5. Cut a Basic White circle using one of the 4th largest Spotlight on Nature Dies. Stamp the baby pea in Memento Tuxedo Black and color with Blends. Adhere over the black circle (these are the same size).
  6. Stamp the greeting on a 3/4″ strip of Basic White and cut the end diagonally with your Paper Snips. Cut a 1/2″ strip of Soft Sea Foam and Lemon Lolly and cut the ends diagonally. Adhere these three strips together and attach to card.
  7. Use Dimensionals to attach the circles to the card.
  8. Finally, embellish with a black twine bow.

Cow Tales Treat Free Tutorial

Need a fun little treat for your family, friends, or your child’s class? This Cow Tales Treat is fairly easy to make and doesn’t require a lot of supplies. I found the Cow Tales candy at my local dollar store. They are the mini size and are perfect for this packaging.

Cow Tales Treat

Here’s How it’s Made

Cut a piece of Night of Navy cardstock to 4 ¼” x 5 ½”.  This is a quarter of a sheet, so you can make four treats with one sheet of cardstock.

Score on short side at ½”.  Score on long side at ½”, 2 ½”, 3”, and 5”.

With the lengthwise score line at the bottom, use Paper Snips to cut up from the bottom edge to the ½” score line on all four score lines.  Cut out the bottom left square only.  Then snip each side of the two small flaps at an angle to make assembly easier.  Also snip the bottom edge of the left flap at an angle.  (See picture below).

Add DSP to the large section on the right side.  Punch or die cut a half circle at the top of this same section, cutting both cardstock and DSP layers.

Fold on all score lines. Use glue or Tear N Tape adhesive to adhere the long ½” side flap with the angle cut INSIDE the long flap on the other side of the box.

For the bottom – fold small flaps in, then back flap, and adhere the front flap over these to create a nice folded edge.

Decorate as desired.

I used the Cutest Cows stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, colored with Basic Black and Petal Pink Blends, and punched with the Cow Builder Punch.  I tied red ribbon around the box.  My DSP is from the Delightfully Eclectic 12” x 12” pack.

Excellent Eggs Surprise

Excellent Eggs Surprise Open

Are you looking for a fun Easter card with something a little different? This Excellent Eggs Surprise card may be just what you’re looking for. It uses the Excellent Eggs Bundle and the Lighter than Air DSP (Designer Series Paper) and has a little bit of interaction, too!

Excellent Eggs Surprise

This fun little card has a balmy blue card base of 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″, scored and folded at 4 1/4″ on the long side to make a 4 1/4″ square.

The background is a 4″ square of the striped Lighter than Air DSP adhered to the card base.

I used the smallest open egg die to cut a Balmy Blue egg, and the detailed egg die to cut a Pool Party egg and glued these together.

Excellent Eggs Surprise Open

I used the large open egg die to cut an egg from both Bubble Bath and the diamond pattern DSP. I used the scallop die to cut the DSP egg into two pieces (top and bottom) slightly lower than halfway.

Next, I glued the bottom of the DSP egg to the Bubble Bath egg. I aligned the top of the DSP egg with the bottom and used my Take Your Pick tool to punch a small hole through both the DSP and cardstock on the right side and inserted a mini round white brad.

With the DSP egg open, I stamped the greeting in Balmy Blue on the Bubble Bath egg.

I attached the Bubble Bath and DSP egg to the card front, and added the detailed cardstock egg with Dimensionals.

Finally, I added a twine bow and Rainbow Adhesive Backed Dots to embellish.
