Candy Cane Christmas Treat Bottles

As some of you know, my 92 year old father lives with us.  Over the last year, since my mom passed, he hasn’t had much appetite and has been gradually losing weight.  At his last checkup, the doctor wanted him to start drinking Boost twice a day, in the hopes that it would help him gain weight.

Those of you who know me, know that I’m a recycle nut.  I hate to throw away anything that might be reused.  In my classes, we have recycled Frappucino bottles into Thankful Tree vases and Cracker Barrel syrup bottles into mini flower vases, so seeing those Boost bottles in the trash was just unacceptable!  We started washing them out and at two a day, it didn’t take long to have a collection.

We made this cute treat at Stamp Club, and I also made a bunch more to give to family, friends, the UPS man, the mail carrier, etc.

They are filled with Christmas M&Ms, and I found that the Cucumber Crush and Real Red inks were a great match!  I also wrapped a strip of DSP around the center section of the bottle, although I didn’t take a picture that shows it.

  1. That I really cute! Love that you can recycle them. I’m sure everyone who received them loved them. Could you use them as a donation anywhere?
