Easter Friends Embossed Strip Card

Easter Friends Embossed Strip Lead

So hard to believe it’s almost Easter! Today I’d like to share an Easter Card using the Easter Friends Stamp Set and Double Oval Punch.

CASEing the Catalog

This card was created as a challenge from my friend, Dawn. She wanted us to CASE a card from Page 80 of the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. She chose the green card in the top right corner. CASE means to Copy and Share Everything or Copy and Selectively Edit, and that’s just what I did.

Change it Up!

I changed up the colors, using Highland Heather for my card base, and Crumb Cake for the panel and strips. The panel was embossed with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder and the strips were embossed with the Macrame Embossing Folder.

I stamped the bunny in Soft Suede and used my Water Painters to soften the color, then fussy cut him and adhered him using Dimensionals. The small flower in his paws is from a retired punch.

You can see how my card is totally different from the card in the catalog, yet the basic design is the same.

Details

I stamped the greeting in Highland Heather and cut it with a die from the Ornate Frames dies. Next, I mounted it onto a piece of Highland Heather punched with the Tailored Tag Punch.

The eggs are simply ovals punched from the Subtles Assorted DSP and cut in half with my snips. They are randomly tucked and glued between the strips.

Finally, I added Pastel Pearls to finish this card.

Waves of the Ocean Lead

Hello FAB followers, it’s the FAB Stampers here with another post for you. Today it’s Connie’s turn, and she is sharing a couple of cards made with the new Waves of the Ocean Collection.

Waves of the Ocean Collection

This is a brand-new collection of products, and they are beautiful. The Waves of Inspiration Bundle is an early release from the Annual Catalogue that will go live in May, and there are 3 other products in the collection that will only be available until May 2, and only while supplies last.

Waves of the Ocean Suite

Photos do not even begin to do justice to showing you how stunning the Designer Series Paper is. The colours are deep and vibrant and coordinate beautifully with the Blue Foils Specialty paper and the gorgeous Waves Rhinestone Basic Jewels. If you are at all fond of the colour blue, these are absolute must have products.

On to the Crafting!

I love the pelican stamp so want to make sure I used him on my cards. Here is the first card.

Waves of the Ocean Blue

A Few Details

To stamp the wave, I used Coastal Cabana, and inked up the whole stamp. Then I used a sponge dauber to add Pacific Point and Night of Navy highlights to the stamp.

Tips & Tricks

Make sure you start with your lightest colour of ink when doing this technique, and work to the darkest. That way you won’t contaminate your lighter ink pads with dark ink.
Also, make sure you “huff” on your stamp before you stamp it, to make sure the ink is nice and moist, and didn’t dry while you were adding additional colours with your sponge daubers.

I covered over the wave after I stamped it so the pelican on the posts would not cross into the water when I stamped it.

Waves of the Ocean 2

The second card shows off what may be considered the ‘back side’ of the Designer Series Paper, the side that isn’t blue.

This time I stamped my pelican on a scrap of Basic White and cut it out with the coordinating die. The clouds are also die cut, and I love that the dies include texture pieces to really make the clouds interesting.

I coloured the pelican with Light Grey Granite and SU700 Stampin’ Blend on both cards.

I hope you enjoyed these projects. Now, back to Jeanne!

Friendly Hello Book Fold Lead

Friendly Hello Book Fold

This type of fold is so named because the left side of the card has a “spine”. This is made by making an extra score line on the front of the card and sealing that small section to the back of the card, so the card only opens from the score line out.

I used Pool Party and Fresh Freesia cardstock and paper from the Friendly Hello bundle. I notched the top and bottom center of the “spine” using the edge of the Tailored Tag Punch to keep my ribbon in place.

The Details

I stamped the bird with flowers in Shaded Spruce on Basic White and carefully colored with Blends. Next, I cut it out using a die from the Hippo & Friends Die Set. Even if you don’t care for the bundle, these dies are worth getting.

This was layered onto a smooth circle of Fresh Freesia and a scalloped circle of Pool Party using the Layering Circles dies. I added a sprinkling of In-Color jewels to finish it off.

The Inside

I stamped the Basic White Inside with Shaded Spruce and colored carefully with Blends. The reason I say I colored CAREFULLY – Blends are alcohol markers and will smear water-based inks, so I try not to color over the stamped lines.
