Card for Kentucky’s Governor

Our Governor, Andy Beshear, has been a calming voice during this pandemic.  He’s urged us to stay calm and his mantra is “We will get through this; we will get through this together.”  He even asked his ASL translator, Virginia, to teach us these phrases in sign language.  I believe he has done his best to keep Kentucky residents safe, and limit the number of deaths in our state.

I had to send him a card of encouragement, so here’s what I came up with.  The COVID-19 raindrops are made using the Poppy Moments Dies.  The greeting and clouds are from a past Paper Pumpkin kit, and the Blueberry Bushel ink and cardstock are now retired.

I received a letter from Governor Andy Beshear in response.  In it, he says “I have displayed your homemade card in my office for all to see.”  Thank you, sir!

Veterans Fourth of July Project

Do you know what 90 pinwheel tabletop decorations look like?  Well, here’s a picture!

Last week, a few of us got together to make decorations for our local VA Center.  Each resident will get one of these to decorate their room for Independence Day.  The pinwheels are from a Paper Pumpkin kit from 2014, so I’ve had these in my closet for a while.

.

Yes, it was a lot of work, but thanks to these lovely ladies, it went quickly.  The lady in the middle, my good friend Nancy, came up with this cute idea, and provided everything but the pinwheels.  Thanks, Nan!

If you have free time, I highly recommend reaching out to your local VA Center, to see if there are ways you can help show our veterans how much we appreciate them.

God Bless the USA and those veterans and active duty service members who defend her!!

December 2018 Paper Pumpkin Alternate Idea

If you aren’t subscribed to Paper Pumpkin, you’re missing out on a monthly box of fun!

Each month, I get a red box delivered directly to my mailbox.  It includes a stamp set, ink, and all the materials needed to make the monthly project.  The project is a surprise, and all the materials are cut and ready to go.

The December 2018 kit contained an 18 month calendar.  I didn’t really need a calendar, so I decided to use the supplies for an alternate project.

I recently asked for my customers’ birthdates, so I could send them cards.  Needless to say, I now need a LOT of cards, so I used the calendar pages to make these cute birthday cards.  What do you think?

If you’d like a monthly subscription to Paper Pumpkin, you can click on the link in the right margin.

Thanks for stopping by!

Let’s Get Spooky!

We don’t often get clues to what is going to be in a Paper Pumpkin kit, so I’m excited to know that next month’s will be a Halloween kit!

Now, the contents are still a surprise, but for those of you who LOVE Halloween (and I know that’s a LOT of you), be sure to sign up for Paper Pumpkin by September 10th to get this kit.  I wouldn’t wait until the last minute, because there are a limited number available!

If you aren’t yet familiar with Paper Pumpkin, it’s a monthly kit that includes everything you need (except scissors) to complete the project, and is delivered directly to your door!  It even includes ink and an exclusive stamp set for only $19 a month.

You can order Paper Pumpkin in two ways.  You can do a monthly subscription, where your credit card is billed once a month, or you can order a pre-paid subscription of one month, three months, six months, or even twelve months (you’ll save money with some of these).

If you’d like to sign up for the monthly subscription, visit www.paperpumpkin.com and be sure to list me as your demonstrator. If you’d like to order a pre-paid subscription, contact me for details!
