Gift of Hope Easter
I’ve been playing with the new blending brushes, which I absolutely love. I purchased a couple of extra sets, so I can have a brush for each color family…… one for yellows, one for pinks, one for blues, one for greens, etc. The brushes are washable, but that’s just too much work! It’s much more fun using my time to create, instead of cleaning supplies.
I used the blending brushes and a post-it note to color the panel that the church is stamped on. I put the post it note across the bottom to mask the grass, and brushed Daffodil Delight and Flirty Flamingo on the top portion of the panel. Then I turned the post-it around to protect the sky I’d just finished, and brushed the bottom of the panel with Granny Apple Green to make the grass. I stamped the church in Memento black and colored it with Smoky Slate Blends to keep some of the yellow from shining through.
The panel with the church was then placed behind a small black panel, cut with a Layering Oval Die. I took a white panel, stamped the flowers, cut with a larger Layering oval die, and colored with Blends. I then embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder before attaching the church and black layer behind it.
All of these layers were placed on a Flirty Flamingo panel. I folded the top of my black card base in half and adhered the Flirty Flamingo panel only below the fold on the front of the black card base, so that when folded, it will stand up. I popped up the verse with dimensionals as a “stop” for the easel.
Don’t you think this would also make a pretty home decor piece if framed?
There were several steps to this card, so I wouldn’t want to make 100 of these, but I think it was worth the end result! What do you think?
