Freshly Brewed Projects – For The Guys

Today, I’m joining my friends again for another Blog Hop.  This hop is to show off a few masculine cards.  I know a lot of us have trouble coming up with ideas for the guys, so visit everyone’s site and I’m sure you’ll see some great new projects.

My project uses the Merry Moose stamp set and Moose punch.  These were in last year’s holiday catalog, but they sold out so quickly that most people weren’t able to get them.  To help with that disappointment, Stampin’ Up! brought these back in this year’s August-December Mini Catalog, and they’re still bundled!! That means you can still save 10% when you purchase both.

When I started with this project, I made a totally different card.  I made the card below with my stamping friends in a Zoom event I called Saturday Stampin’ Surprise.  I gave them a list of the pieces they would need, and then I talked them through making the card, sight unseen!  It was a lot of fun and they made beautiful cards!  I may try to talk them into letting me share them with you.

When I showed this card to my husband, he said, “that’s a Christmas card”.  I told him it was a birthday card, but he said it didn’t matter what greeting I stamped on it, it was red and green and therefore a Christmas Card.  Sheesh!

After giving it some thought, I decided to make a new panel to turn it into a real Christmas card and remake it in grays for my masculine card.

So, after all that, which one do you like best?

If you’re in the USA, and don’t have a demonstrator, I’d love to be yours!

Now, please visit the talented ladies listed below to see more great masculine card ideas.

  1. Lovely combination of patterns and card stock colours Jeanne. I like the stamped tree images in the background and the pop of thread behind the moose.

  2. Don’t you love the real feedback you get when asking the hubby about cards! I love both versions and think using the moose on a birthday card is fab! Kelly x

    • Thanks, Kelly! Yes, my husband and I don’t always agree on my cards. But, I decided to go ahead and make the change. And, I’m glad I did. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have made the gray card, and I’ve had lots of compliments on it.
